Habibi Jewelry

We design and make our jewelry from the heart, hence our name “Habibi”, which means “my loved one”. Each piece is handmade with love, and it is our hope that we can share that love with every one of our clients.

We are a husband and wife team, originally from Aleppo, Syria. We now live in Riga, Latvia, where we design and make gold, silver and amber jewelry. We offer a wide range of designs, from classic rings such as plain bands or solitaires, to quirky statement rings; silver bangles and bracelets,  pendants, necklaces and earrings with natural polished Baltic amber or semi-precious gemstones. Here you will find an exciting selection of Arabic and Baltic influenced jewelry. We also accept custom-made orders.

Why we are called “Habibi”

Names are important. Parents take a lot of time choosing names for their children, often paying special attention to the meaning of the names they are considering. If you live in a cross-cultural situation, you need to think of how a name will work in several languages.

It is pretty similar when it comes to choosing a name for your business. It can take a lot of time to come up with a name that expresses what your business is about, and you want to make the right decision, as once chosen, the name cannot easily be changed.

So how did we choose the name “Habibi Jewelry” for our business? Actually, it was not so difficult! “Habib”is an Arabic male name, meaning “loved one”; it also happens to be the first name of Habib Farah, who is one half of Habibi Jewelry; his wife, Carla, is the other half. Habib is a skilled goldsmith, with more than 15 years’ experience of making jewelry. Since moving from Aleppo to Latvia the couple have also begun to work more with silver, amber and other materials, creating new designs of jewelry that combine Arabic and Western influences.

As we were thinking of what name to give our new business, we decided that we would use the name Habib, and make it “Habibi”, which means “my loved one”. We design and make our jewelry from the heart. Each piece is handmade with love, and it is our hope that we can share that love with every one of our clients.
